Prepaid cell phones are becoming a popular alternative to the regular cell phone service. Prepaid phones offer the same features as a regular mobile phone, but allows the cell phone user to have more control. Prepaid phones

The prepaid mobile phone is definitely more expensive per call, sms or email but cell phone owners that don't use their mobile frequently, are happy with the prepaid option.

The prepaid phone card is also valid for a couple of months, and is free of monthly service charges. It used to be that the prepaid phone option came with a cheap phone that was more like a dinosaur of mobile phones, but this has changed.

Most of the leading names in mobile phone devices, such as Nextel Sprint, Motorola, Alltel and Cingular, are being offered as part of the prepaid cell phone package, many sporting cameras.

The cost of a photo sms or email sent from a prepaid camera phone is also more costly than a regular mobile phone, but it still does not deter many prepaid phone customers.

Cell phones fuel growth in developing world
Posted Monday, January 29, 2007 3:09:36 PM by Blog57 Team
Today, mobile phones are the primary form of telecommunication in most emerging economies, fulfilling much the same role as fixed-line phone networks did in facilitating growth in the United States and Europe after World War II.Some developing nations have even jumped out in front as mobile pioneers. In the Philippines, more than 4 million people use their cell phones as virtual wallets to buy things or transfer cash - services still rare in many wealthy countries, with few exceptions like Japan. As service charges and handset prices have plunged and coverage areas have expanded, cell phone subscriptions in the developing world have surged fivefold since 2000, to 1.4 billion at the end of 2005, according to the U.N. International Telecommunication Union. That's nearly double the 800 million in advanced economies.Research shows that greater cell phone use can drive economic growth in emerging economies....

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Museum may not be a place of choice for a relaxing nights sleep, but 11-year-old Chen Sue Ann did not mind. The precocious girl was one of the participants of the "One Night at the Museum" programme held on Thursday. The students were taken to watch the movie Night at the Museum, starring Ben Stiller, at Mid Valley Megamall in the afternoon before they were brought by the facilitators to the museum. "In the movie, the statues came alive. So I was a little bit scared. But I was very excited," said Chen, who came with her classmate, Tang Hui Jun, 11. Both were among the 50 primary school students from the Klang Valley, Pahang and Negri Sembilan who spent the night at the museums main gallery. Department of Museums Malaysia director-general Datuk Dr Adi Taha was there to receive the students and reassured them that there was nothing to be afraid of....

Rating Cell Phone Service
Posted Saturday, December 09, 2006 1:11:51 PM by Blog57 Team
No wonder then that cell service is among the lowest-rated services the magazine tracks, earning an overall satisfaction rating of 66 out of 100. That is about what cable TV and computer tech support receive, and if you think of it that way, it's sounds about right. The overall satisfaction rating isn't limited to call quality issues. I suspect it reflects customer service at retail stores and the automated phone service, not to mention the whole matter of billing. Customer service and billing horror stories from friends were part of the reason I steered clear of Sprint and signed up for Verizon--and early termination fees have kept me signed up. I wish such factors played a bigger role in cellphone service reviews. After all, if talking on the phone was the entire experience of owning one, it would be easier to give companies a gold star....
